Contribute

Photographers who have pictures of UK and Ireland signs, however old, can contribute them to the History of Advertising Trust (HAT) Ghostsigns Archive in the form of a gift. Details of how to do this can be found on this website. If you have any questions about the process please email enquiries@hatads.org.uk.

There are a number of other ways to get involved with the Ghostsigns Project. You can add photos from all over the world to the Flickr group, upload them to the Facebook page, send them to Twitter with the tag #ghostsigns or add them to History Pin with the tag ghostsigns. If you are interested in volunteering to offer more involved support then please contact me via sam@ghostsigns.co.uk

This photo is part of a series taken using a Kodak Instamatic camera in and around Barnet, North Finchley and Whetstone in the late 1980′s. This shop was in North Finchley. Not sure if it’s still there.

On a house side, not a shop, Rothbury Street, Scarborough, North Yorkshire. We can make out ‘Duck’ & ”Butcher’, then ‘best’ and ‘only’. The third line reads: “Best quality” “Beef, pork, & mutton” “Pressed beef(?), (?)” “& Sausage.”
